Cable entry system KES150/KES90

Over the course of its life, a building frequently gets renovated or refurbished. In most cases, however, these activities only take place in the parts of the building located above ground level. Nonetheless, the requirements for the cable infrastructure in a building can also change significantly over time. This is precisely where it is recommendable during construction of a building to provide for reserve openings and lay a durable empty conduit route via which lines can be replaced or new lines laid without having to dig up the entire conduit route.

For this purpose, Hauff-Technik offers the KES150/KES90 pressure-tight cable entry system, which is compatible with the HSI150/HSI90 system and features a Hateflex spiral hose as well as various options for cable sealing. This system can relied upon to provide optimum protection for the cables that are being laid.

Hauff-Technik’s KES Cable Entry System – Flexible and Easy Installation

Introducing cables and utility lines into buildings is a task that requires great care. It’s vital that these connections are fully gas- and watertight. However, constructing such entries can be laborious and often necessitates special tools, increasing expenses. Hauff-Technik offers a solution with the KES cable entry system, effectively addressing these concerns.

The KES Cable Entry System in Detail

The KES cable entry system includes a system cover tailored to the HSI150 sealing package, with additional covers for different types of cable protection conduits, casing pipes, and core drillings. The connection sets have a diameter of 150 mm. This system is primarily designed for horizontal cable installations, essential for buildings with basements. The flexible Hateflex spiral conduits in the system also enable vertical cable entry through the foundation slab.

Connections are made externally, where the KES cable entry system connects the sealing package with Hauff-Technik’s Hateflex spiral conduit. This conduit serves as a protective sleeve, channeling the utility lines underground to the house.

Installing the KES Cable Entry System on the HSI150 Sealing Package – Quick and Secure

The KES Cable Entry System is easy to install when paired with the HSI150 sealing package. Installation starts by opening the closing cover on the sealing package, which is integrated into the foundation. A mechanical fixation system using a bayonet connection allows the cable entry to be connected without tools, creating a gas- and watertight seal up to 2.5 bar. The other end of the system cover holds the cable protection conduit, which is secured using sleeves, tension bands, or cold shrink technology. Through this securely sealed conduit, utility lines are then routed into the building.

Using the KES Cable Entry System for Retrofitting Cable Installations

Hauff-Technik’s KES cable entry system is highly effective for retrofitting utility lines in existing buildings. Often, there are no existing conduits, making it difficult to install new lines.

The KES system from Hauff-Technik offers comprehensive solutions for such situations. When core drilling is required in the foundation, cement-bonded pipes with sleeves can be used. These pipes fit directly into the core drilling and are embedded into the concrete, ensuring a gas- and watertight seal. Cables are then sealed using protective conduits, ideally with the appropriate ring seal from Hauff-Technik’s product range.

For installations where conduits or core drillings are already present, the KES150 MA KB connection set is ideal. It features a rigid plastic pipe socket that passes through the conduit or core drilling, with two ring seals providing a secure seal against the building. The set also includes a sleeve with tension bands for external attachment to a Hateflex spiral hose, through which the utility lines are routed into the building.

The flexible KES cable entry system from Hauff-Technik allows for the quick and straightforward installation of utility lines in existing buildings.

Diverse Connection Options for System Covers

Utility lines arriving at buildings can vary significantly in diameter and the type of protection conduits, such as smooth or corrugated cable protection conduits. Hauff-Technik offers flexible solutions with multiple connection options and pipe connection sleeves. These sleeves allow the transition between conduits of different diameters and Hateflex spiral conduits. The KES cable entry system, along with Hauff-Technik’s connection options, can be customized to fit specific construction conditions. Each connection remains fully gas- and watertight.
